Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission was originally created as part of SFU undergraduate or graduate coursework and instructor contact information has been included in the body of the submission.
  • The submission is between 1,250 and 2,500 words long and uses language that is accessible for an interdisciplinary audience.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission has been created and/or revised with principles of anti-racism and anti-oppression in mind.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is in the provided template.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

Author Guidelines

This journal is accepting submissions from Monday, January 13th until Friday, February 28th 2025 or until we reach our maximum capacity of submissions.

Submission Template
All submissions must use this template provided. Please download a copy in .docx format and complete the sections as provided before submitting. Ineligible or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Co-authored Submissions
Co-authored papers can be submitted to the contest. In such cases, one author will complete the submission process, however, all co-authors must agree to the submission. 

Article Revision and Professor Contact Information
Papers can be revised before submission in order to meet submission guidelines and to address outstanding comments from the professor or TA. Students are encouraged to attend an SLC writing consultation to support their revisions. Professors will be contacted to provide any further context necessary to allow for publication of submissions selected.
